About Job Advice Club Solihull

Welcome to The Job Advice Club here in Solihull

First off you don’t have to live in Solihull but this is where we are based. It’s a friendly group that meets every Monday morning. It is run by a small band of volunteers who have considerable experience and knowledge to help people looking for a job. Some former members have found it so beneficial that they now return to support others.

If you are between jobs and want to meet others in the same situation, as well as need help with your CV, interview practice or job hunting advice, just come along – no charge, and plenty of tea and coffee available.

You may be looking for support with new employment opportunities for a variety of reasons. Some people who have never really had to search for a job now find themselves in that situation.  Are you mid-career and looking for a change of direction? Have you had a career break due to ill-health? Or, maybe you’ve been bringing up children, or providing support to other family members, and feel daunted at the prospect of re-entering the world of work?

Previously, it was easy to move jobs seamlessly, but times have changed with the digital age, and the online search process can seem overwhelming.

Having helped over 250 local people, and open to all, the job club offers networking opportunities, support, group work activities, one-to-one guidance, online search tips, and help with interview techniques and competencies – all within a friendly, accessible environment.

The group meets every Monday from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Solihull URC Church Hall, Union Road, Solihull, B91 3DA (located in Union Road, which is off Warwick Road and opposite House of Fraser and behind Solihull United Reformed Church). Look out for the large yellow signs marked ‘Meeting Space’. We meet in the Story Room.
